Got a used Adventurer and I would like to know everything is fresh. Has anybody washed the bedspread and shams in cold water?
It says dry clean but I'd feel better if it was washed.

Maybe the previous owners were like my wife. When we bought our 1st RV she took the bedspread and shams off and stored them in plastic bags until we sold it. She did the same thing with our current RV. If it says to dry clean I would be very cautious about washing them.
Good Luck,
Jon

We bought our current motorhome used and we suspect the previous owners also did not use the original bedspread and pillow shams. They looked new and seemed clean. However, we had them dry cleaned and they are now stored in vacuum bags.

Yes, I did wash mine, I didn't care what happened to them, but I wanted clean bed linens. They did just fine in the washing machine on gentle cycle. I would not recommend doing this to often, as they are not top quality materials.

Thanks, I've seen some in the pictures of RV's for sale that look very wrinkly and shabby afterwards.

Those spreads that come with RV's aren't made for sleeping under, anyway! They're way too stiff. Ours are stored in plastic bags, too, in case we ever sell the unit. I found a nice, soft quilt with shams at Target that matches the decor, and it's much more functional.

I washed mine in cold water gentle cycle and hung outside to dry. It came through that just fine. I do use mine and am full time. I don't put pillows in the shams but just lay them on top of the pillows so the bed looks "made".

I have never used the spread in any of our RV's. We Just bought a 94 Vectra. And wasn't sure if they were used or not. But considering the age of our coach I figured better wash they. I did wash ours from this coach, they came out just fine. Used cold water. Now they are stored in bag under bed. I also put a full zipper matteress cover so we didn't need to buy a new matteress. The kind that protects from bed bugs. Can't be too safe now days.

That's an idea. I think it looks nice all made up but when we do a long trip, it might stay home.
