Here is a twofer for you.
One--my black tank monitor lights are acting weird. I emptied the tanks and they showed empty. But over the next few days of just sitting at my storage facility the level (according to the Oneplace lights) has crept up to two thirds with no use. I have flushed the tanks to within an inch of its life, and have always used the correct TP. If there was something in the tank, wouldn't it always show the same level and not just slowly creep up? Any ideas?
Two--do you perform oil changes based on time, or miles? I haven't done many miles in the last 6 months, so should I not change the oil until after 5K miles or should it be done after so many months?

Gary, for the sensors to do that something has got to be making contact. Try adding 3/4 tank water, detergent and taking a ride. Some folks recommend ice but I haven't foung that successful. Those sensors can be a PAT.
Gary,,On a new Moho I would change the oil at 3000 miles and then probably go on mileage, yet I would be sure to change the oil and lube at least once a year. Good Miles

Even though the sensors sit on the outside of the tank, they still (unfortunately) react to scum that can coat the walls of the tanks. In fact my black tank is erroneously reading 2/3 right now.
The sensor system is ready for a redesign because our experiences are not unique. A better design would have a sensor system that only reacts to actual liquid (obviously.)
Jim has a good idea for cleaning up the tank. You might also find with use, the sensors will magically start working. Wait until the tank is almost full before you dump, and that might work.
Regarding your oil change - I think most manufacturers recommend which ever interval (time or miles) happens first should trigger the oil change. I usually stretch the interval if it is time-based but never let oil sit for more than a year. We had the genny serviced last summer and haven't put the hours on it for the next oil change, but I will change it anyway in the next month or two.

I would use Workhorse's severe service oil change schedule. Change at 3000 miles.
