Has anyone had any issues with blowing trailer signal fuses? I keep blowing the fuse to right turn signal for the trailer plug. And it seems to be independent of what I'm towing. I've blown the fuse with a Blazer, with a Jeep, and with a Honda Pilot. Anyone else ever have any similar experience?
Thanks,
Alan

Sounds like your MH light plug/harness may have an intermitent short in the turn signal wire going to the pulled units plug.

Actually, let me redirect a bit. I need to look for a short, and since I haven't had any trouble with my enclosed trailer, it must have something to do with the connection I use to hook up cars and not be in the motorhome wiring (if the trouble is in fact a short). Trouble is, I have used two different cords... which baffles me, what are the chances that two different cords are bad. But anyway, here is the real question, if I find no apparent short. A technician at an RV service center had said that "you know, that (referring to the blown trailer plug fuse) can be a sign of the main electrical panel going bad". Has anyone ever heard of this or had a similar situation that in fact lead to that?

If the fuse never blows with nothing connected then I seriously doubt the "bad electrical panel" diagnosis. Sounds like the RV technician saw a business opportunity!!!

The problem may not be your tow cords, but rather the problem may be inside the connector on the rig. Since the problem appears only when towing a vehicle connected to the connector then I would disassemble the connector on rig and inspect the wire associated with the right signal. Perchance there is a small frayed wire that touches ground only when the connector is stressed, or moves, while the cord is plugged in.
