I just replaced my three coach batteries with three AGM LifeLine batteries. When changing them out, we noticed that one of the battery posts from the rear battery in the tray was loose and not connected.
We also noticed that the position of the cables was such that they may hit on something when sliding the tray in.

It appears that the cables had to be flared out to allow the covers on the lead acid batteries to be removed. Since the LifeLine are sealed, we positioned the cables over the batteries in a safer position.

Has anyone else noticed that cable management on the battery trays was iffy?

Walt

Walt - noticed/did the same thing when we changed out to the AGMs. The original cables should have been positioned a little differently and have had better isolation/insulation/protection from the tray and surrounding area.

Don't forget to option your inverter/charger for sealed batteries and correct amp/hour capacity.

I have been really happy with the AGM change-out and I like the fact that I don't have to pull the tray out in and out every month to chack water level - I was concerned that many in/out cycles wouldn't be good for the cables.

Now have a feeling the chassis batteries aren't holding a charge - they are original and I suspect they weren't that great to begin with. I'll replace them when we get back to the lower 48.
