Broken seat

The manual passenger seat in our 2013 Sunstar 35F broke. I pulled the level to slide the seat back and it did nothing as if a cable snapped/disconnected. The lever to rotate the seat also stopped working simultaneously. Has this happened to you and if so, is there a do-it-yourself fix.

Thanks!

Ours has not broken like that but those functions are handled by a pair of levers that go under the seat and engage in holes in metal to hold things in place so it would be really easy to fix. It might be really easy to unbolt the seat and flip it over to see.

I called Winnebago tech support and was told there are a pair if cables that control both the seat rotation and swivel. The plastic lever and cable are one part. I then chatted online with the Lichtsinn parts department. They looked up the part for me. The part was in stock and sold for $16.80 plus shipping. The part arrived via Priority Mail two days later. My son and I removed the four bolts holding the seat to the floor pedestal and inverted it. The repair should take about twenty minutes for an experienced tech, most of which would be taken up removing and replacing the seat. What we discovered was that the cable had separated from the plastic lever, parts of which were found under the seat. There was nothing wrong with the cable control for the seat rotation so replacement was not needed.
I have had several occasions where I ordered parts from Lichtsinn. They reasonable prices and excellent customer service.
