HWH has told me that the pump motor on our 99 chieftin is shot. Has anyone replaced this motor themselves. If you have can you tell me how to remove the old motor. How hard a job is it to replace the motor myself rather than driving a whole day to our nearest dealer?.

p.s. my two slides are out and the jacks down at this time.

Funny you should ask. I just replaced mine yesterday. Very easy, just 2 bolts, but call HWH to get the right procedure. They may be different from year to year/model to model.
The first thing I did was disconnect the chassis batteries, there are a lot of 12 volt cables going to the relays around the pump motor. I didn't want to weld a cable to the frame while I was under the coach. Also when ordering the new motor from HWH, ask about a rebuilt. They are about half price.
