Cab AC and heat
So after sitting for about 10 months I have some issues. Before I let the MH sit I had just had a new AC compressor installed. From the trip from Arizona to Florida it worked flawlessly. Trip from north florida to south florida all it did was make noise. No forced air coming out of the cab ac ducts. Sounds like the fan is blowing but nothing comes out. Seems the same for the heat, but not sure of that. I will be posting more as I search for my answer, but if it sounds familiar please help. Thanks.

You might also check out this thread (complete with pictures): Pump noise under the hood??
If there's a vacuum leak the system will default to defroster only (for safety). If you're getting defrost air but not dash or floor air this could be the cause.

It might be the Evans actuator. This is a useful resource for our cabin heating and cooling system: Evans Tempcon > Owners Resources

The vacuum pump is making a racket. Will check that when I have a little time. This weekend. Thank you all for the help.

After my last statement not real sure whether the noise I hear is the vacuum pump or not. Intermittently the system worked a couple of times. It does appear to be the issue of the ducts not switching correctly. Everything appears to be ok on the heat side of things, I think.Anyway I have the dash torn apart and the generator slide out. Will keep looking.

So I have now determined the noise is the vacuum pump and there does appear to be a leak. If I pull the large hose off the canister (softball looking thing) the vacuum pump stops operating. From there I have pulled off the green tube at the bottom of the heat hose areas as well as the blue tube on the dash register. No change. To me another odd thing is when i pull the small hose off the canister and use my finger to close the hole on the canister I would expect the pump to shut off as that is what happens when I remove the large hose. Could that canister be the issue?

Hi Will; If I have this correct, If you pull the large supply hose that goes from the pump to the canister and put your finger over the end of the supply hose and the pump stops, the vacuum pump is working correctly. If you pull all the vacuum lines off the canister and put your finger over those lines and the pump does not shut off, I think the canister has a crack in the housing and is not sealed making the vacuum pump continually run. Sounds like the canister could be your problem. I am sure they are made out of some type of plastic and may not last forever.

Not sure we are saying exactly the same thing, but possibly. Easy to get lost in translation. Definitely if I pull the large hose and put my finger over the end of the large hose the vacuum pump stops running. Now I put the large hose back on the canister and pull the small black hose that goes from the canister into the firewall and into the massive array of wiring and such under the dash. At this point i tried to plug the canister as it would now be the next thing in line and although all I had was my finger to push onto the nipple in the canister I removed the hose from the pump continues to run. I am thinking now of bypassing the canister somehow and seeing if the pump stops.

Sounds like a job for painting the canister. It's cheap and easy, if it doesn't work all he loses is time and price of paint.

I took the motor home to Suncoast in FL. to get windows worked on...(sticker shock)so when it gets back I will continue on the vacuum pump dilemma. Does anyone know if I disable the pump electrically till I have time to fix it are there any issues?

We are traveling now but still have this issue I have not fixed. It seems as if getting to the controls for the AC is no easy task. Just wondering from what I see would I be better off testing with some kind of vacuum gage and what procedure would be best? Thanks for all the help so far.
