cabin heater motor replacement on suncruiser 33v

Has anyone ever replace the elect motor on the cabin heater in a suncruiser model 33v. The heater is inboard of the water heater and am unable to get to it. Motor is frozen and will not rotate.

after 5-6 years we had the same issue on our 2000 Suncruiser. when I looked into having the motor replaced I determined that it was v-e-r-y expensive. so we opted not to fix it as we didn't really use that feature all that much.

We had the entire unit replaced on our 2001 Adventurer 32V. It was done at the factory service center and cost about $250.00. I'm guessing the price would be about double today.

On our particular model the water heater needed to be removed to access the heater. On some models there is an access panel that can be removed. It's a floor panel just behind the water heater.

In most cases there's nothing wrong with the motor. What happens is the squirrel cage fan slips on the shaft and gets bound up when it either hits the motor or the housing. The retainer that holds the fan in place breaks or becomes lose on the shaft allowing the squirrel cage to slip.

At the time we had ours done labor was a big part of the job. The factory wouldn't guarantee that if they repositioned the fan that it wouldn't slip again. They would guarantee even if it did happen with a new unit it would be covered under the warranty.

I saved the old unit and used it as a heater in an end loader. The fan has never slipped again, but even if it did it's in a location that could be accessed in a couple minutes.
