Marlybelle,
It's really not all that hard. Your top three batteries are your HOUSE batteries and, of course, the bottom two are your CHASSIS batteries. Most likely, based on how most Winnes and Itascas of yours and our eras were/are wired in the battery compartments, your top three are Group 27 or 29, can't remember, and, the positives are all connected together and, the negatives are the same.

And the bottom two are regular starting batteries and also are wired pos to pos and neg to neg. Where some of this gets just a tad bit complicated is if, which I suspect it is, you've got small, auxiliary wiring attached to both sets of posts, on both sets of batteries. Many, many Winnes and Itascas were wired like that for some odd reason. It was like they (maybe the factory techs) came in AFTER the coach was maybe 90% built and, added some small circuits to the batteries. I really don't know, I'm just kind-a guessing.

But, in my case, I decided all those parasitic wires, needed to be waaaaaaaay better organized than they were. So, I just cleaned everything up. If I can get the pics to show, you'll see what I did and, they might also help you in your situation. I could only find one pic right now, I'll dig around a bit and see where the others are. I know I have them.

I was looking at FIREUP'S batteries.

I don't know what you mean by having the batteries on the opposite side. Looks like all those cables cover all the caps.

Hey Arch,
That picture was taken when we just purchased the coach, 6.5 years ago. About 6 years ago, I did this:

Waaaaay easier.

Mine look like Scotts finished project, but to your earlier comment on checking water... You can't imagine how difficult it is.. I have T-145 Trojans that are taller and heavier than Scott's, so I have a watering system, but once a year pull them out anyway and use an external roller on a stand normally used for sawing long lumber. There's almost 290lb in that tray and I'm not thrilled about cantilevering it over my feet..
