I use a dash mat mainly to keep the dogs nails from going thru it.

We had a leather seat repaired in our car. The man doing the repair said that it is best NOT to use any of the leather protecting products on the leather. If the leather gets dirty the best thing to use is a few drops of mild liquid detergent in water. He said that the leather products can actually shorten the life of leather by drying it out over time. It is the same principal as using tire protecting products on tires which shortens the life of the sidewalls. This information is from a leather repair person and not my own theory. Happy travels, Joe

I have used ARMOR ALL for more years than I care to admit. I have never had a dash crack or deteriorate. I would use the non shiney product to keep glare away. It replaces the vinyl additives that the sun cooks out.

I would have to agree if it is in fact real leather. Most are leatherette which is a vinyl product that looks like leather. OP needs to clarify.

I used to use Armor All but it is kinda greasy and attracts dust.
I've switched entirely to 303 Protectant for everything rubber or vinyl.
Leaves a nice "glow" on dashboards without being shiny or greasy.

Best thing is to use an external sun shield on the windshield.

Only use the sun screen when parked or in storage. When driving, you can stick the DW on the front bumper with a walkie talkie and hen can give directions....Oh, honey, you need to turn right up her in a bit....now slow down......
