The ceiling inthe shower has a mold around the outer edge . What could I use to clean the carpeted ceiling edge ?

A carpet ceiling in the shower? Not the best idea.

For you immediate problem, try Oxi-clean. Them I would look for a way to replace the shower ceiling with a plastic product.

Oxy-Clean is what I use on our shower ceiling in our 2004 Meridian when it needs cleaning. Usually our problem is when we let the humidity get to high in the coach and the plastic sun ceiling sweats after a hot shower and run moisture down staining a little. So far Oxy-Clean has done the job.

readytogo,
I had similar brown stains in the carpet above my shower. I traced this to a water leak in the plastic skylight bubble over the shower. The calk had separated in several places. Cleaned & recalked and leak went away. But...I still have the brown/orange stain.

Be careful of leaks from the sky light. I had a crack over the winter and in the spring thaw, water leaked in and caused delamination on the outside sidewall.

At a recent RV show, I spoke with a Winnebago rep. He said those carpet ceilings are polypropylene, or plastic. If I remember correctly, he said bleach will work to clean them. It's white plastic, so I don't see why that wouldn't work.
