Anyone know if the newer dash radio/CD/Tape unit will fit in the older dash openong. Have a 2001 would like to put the newer radio in it and also conn. my Kenwood Plug & Play Serius rec. up. I see this is just what Winnebago uses on the new MoHo.

My unit is a Magnadyne model M9999. Far as I know that's still what Winnie is using. It does have the aux input jacks for the Sirius or other rx. The install manual says:

"The radio chassis is designed to be 'Sleeve Mounted' through an opening in the dashboard panel. The required opening size is 182mm (7-3/16") x 84mm (3-5/16")."

Hope it works for you...

I like the new radio better than our '01 radio, but I think I would go to Best Buy or CC and find something better for less and have them install it for free. The Madnadyne won't play my homemade CDs and I can't hook up my Sony CD changer to it.

OK talked to Winnebago. No the new radio will not fit without a lot of cutting in the dash. Guess I will have to check a radio shop and see what they have. Wish I had to tool to unlock the present radio from the dash. Need some kind of metal key that slides on side of radio to unlock tabs. Tried a screw driver but no good. mine has the removable face plate.

My Winnebago Journey came with the tool to remove the radio from the dash. It's in the huge bag with the manuals. It's a u-shaped piece of heavy wire. Two..one for each side of the radio.

RVTEN, try a wire coat hanger bent in the shape of a "U" to go into the holes. This was recommended to me but I never did try it. Good Miles

I have a new Magnadyne radio that came out of my 2002 Itasca Suncruiser U35. Works beautifully and I have a plug-harness also. Will sell for $60 and you ship from where ever we are (west coast area).

reply to my email roamer@k7no.com
