Has anyone installed the home style ceiling fan in an older Winnebago, like the option now available in Vectra and Journey models? This is not the fantastic fan variety, but the one with blades, 2 speed 12-volt. There are some posts from people who have noise problems with theirs, but we're wondering if anyone actually installed one.

I installed a ceiling fan that I bought from CW last year in a 2000 Itaska Horizon 36LD. The unit has three speeds and reverse and includes a remote. The Horizon has two overhead 12 vdc lamps in the bedroom each controlled by it's own switch. I removed one of these lamps which was situated over the center of the bed and installed the fan in it's place. The fan actually drew less power than the lamp. There was no electrical noise that I noticed on the radio. The fan sound level was very low also. The electrical noise I receive comes from the electrical bay in the moterhome - it overpowers the AM band. I leave the bedroom switch on and use the remote by the bed to control the fan. The fan can also be turned off at the switch however it must be turned on again using the remote. Easy installation. I also used a circular ceiling decorative mediallion under the fan base - really gives it some class.
