I decided to update my Magnadyne stereo and guess what? Somebody changed the color coded wires so they don't match the diagram that came with the radio. Don't know if was Winnebago or Magnadyne. I almost have to believe it was the radio since that harness plugs right into the radio and then into Winnebago's wiring block. Now I have to try to figure out what wires go where. What a bummer!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can go pin to pin from the old Magnadyne harness plug to your coach's harness plug you should be able to tell what color in the coach does what by knowing the Magnadyne colors.

I just pulled my Magnadyne M1- LCD out to check colors (I had the M1-CD and replaced with the M1-LCD colors were the same, I got lucky for me it unplug the M1-CD and Plug in the M1-LCD).

Here are the Magnadyne wire colors, hope this is some help. These are based on the tags applied to each wire.
White/Black wire = Left front speaker -
Solid White wire = Left front speaker +

Gray/Black wire = Right front speaker -
Solid Gray wire = Right front speaker +

Green/Black wire = Left rear speaker -
Solid Green wire = Left rear speaker +

Violet/Black wire = Right rear speaker -
Solid Violet wire = Right rear speaker +

Yellow wire = 12 volt constant +
Red wire = Ignition +
Blue wire = Amplifier control
Black wire = Ground

And there in lies the problem. They changed the color of 4 wires and now I don't know where they go. They also have two green wires with a black stripe so now I don't know which one to use. Dirty devils!!!!!!!

Assume you mean they changed the wires on the radio harness not the coach harness.

Which Magnadyne radio did you have? If it's the M1-CD or MI-LCD I could look at the plug on my Magnadyne and give it to you by pin location.

Mine is a M9900 with a cd player, cassette, and weather radio, but I bet the wiring is the same. Of the 4 wires I have left, one is a green w/red stripe, 1 green w/a fatter black stripe, 1 gray w/black stripe and 1 gray w/red stripe.

Thank you for your help.

My plug has 2 rows of 8 pins
reading the top row from left to right from backside/wire side of plug
1 Black Ground
2 White Lft frt spkr +
3 White w/ black stripe Lft frt spkr -
4 Gray w/ black stripe Rt frt spkr -
5 Gray Rt front spkr +
6 Green Lft rear spkr +
7 Green w/ black stripe Lft rear spkr -
8 Violet Rt rear spkr +

Bottom row reading left to right from backside/wire side of plug
1 Yellow 12 volt constant
2 Red ignition
3 empty
4 empty
5 empty
6 Blue Amplifier control
7 empty
8 Violet w/ black stripe Rt rear spkr -

First 3 picture are from Magnadyne's site showing different style plugs. I'm guessing yours is like the second picture. Mine is the 3 rd picture. THe last 2 picture show my plug and help to explain how i numbered the pins. So in my plug yellow is below black and violet w/ black stripe is below violet.

I'm sorry, but mine is really different. This is what mine looks like. Wish I could get a better view of this harness, but I just copied from a website. Thanks anyway for all your trouble.

Have a happy new year.

No trouble just had to walk uphill both ways to and from the coach through 3' of snow barefoot.

I don't see your cable on the magnadyne site at all Magnadyne RV Accessories

Bummer.

Captgaget,

It looks like you have the same harness that I had in my 03 Journey.

Winnebago probably just grabbed whatever wire they had and made the harness.

All that you need to do is Google the model of your radio and copy the schematic of the wiring harness. Forget the colors, just count the pin numbers an match them up to your new radio. I cut my old harness one wire at a time and matched them to the new radio.

Everything worked the first time.

captgadget, You still didn't tell us what radio you upgraded to? I would like to upgrade to one of the newer Magnadyne M4-LCD and am wondering if it will fit in the same hole as my M9900.
