Citrus Wash?

I was checking out a local truck stop wash today for possible wash of my RV. They said they can do-add a citrus solution to the wash and it really cleans off the road scum. The said they use it all the time on newer trucks with clear coat-paint jobs...with no problem.

I have full body paint with cearcoat on Itasca.

Any comments on this citrus solution cleaner? Any one else heard of it?

This is what I do for a living. A "citrus wash" is a milcly acidic wash. It will clean a large part of teh road grime off of your vehicle, but I cannot say that it will be 100% effective. A brush wash is still the most effective way to clean a motorhome.

Thanks. So, to understand your post...citrus wash will not adversly affect clear coat finish.
Mildly acidic...does that mean it could slightly etch bare/uncoated aluminum surface parts too?

Pubtym, I would expect anything acidic to remove any wax you have on your coach.
Altho, it may be mild enough not to do any harm..I like soap( I use washnwax) water and a brush. The Mr Clean Machine and Boat Soap, Depends on the mood I am in.

Many times we see instructions that apply to extreme circumstances and may not hold true in all cases...Good Miles

D-Limonene is the chemical name if you want to do a MSDS search. It's an excellent paint stripper in full concentration. Eats certain types of plastics.
