Where is the best place to mount a CB antenna on a Class C? I have heard that the rear top is best to receive the greatest distance from traffic in the front of the motorhome. If this is right then I have thought of putting a hole in the rear wall about 1' down in the storage area of my 25F and run the cable down and under to the front dash area. Just wondering what others have done for mounting a CB antenna for the greatest distance and what is the most popular antenna.

You won't bet any benefit of the ground plane unless you ground the antenna to the steel ot aluminum structure. The majority of the antenna has to be above the coach as well.

When we had a class C, I used a through the glass antenna on the front side window. It worked reasonably well. If you go this route, be sure and get a good antenna. The ones sold by Camping world and Wal Mart are pure junk and do not work.

It appears you have a rear ladder. Try to use a mirror mount clamp type and use a short FireStick antenna. Problem is the length of the coaxial cable getting back to the cab. If you do use the ladder, run a separate ground strap from the antenna to the frame of th coach.

I have not had a CB on in years until a couple of weeks ago and it has not changed. Just a lot of truckers cussing about 4-wheelers.
