Coach Batteries

I have a 2007 Meridian and will need to replace the coach batteries.Does anyone have suggestion for replacement batteries.I have a 300 hp Cummins diesel pusher.Thanks

I've tried both Walmart and Costco because they are both readily available anywhere to service the warranty. The WM batteries didn't seem to hold up very well and now I'm using the Costco units. So far so good. However, both WM and Costco seem to sell "dual purpose/deep cycle" batteries and next time I think I'll go with true deep cycle batteries.

I recently got "Duracell" brand deep cycle from Sam's Club. They are made by East Penn, which does not have a good reputation. However, they do have a one year full replacement followed by an additional 2 year pro rata warranty, which is the best that I could find. Most are just one year.

I got group 27's for $69 each, and they fit well where my original group 31's went. My Meridian came with 2 engine batteries and 3 house batteries.

I purchased the 6-volt "Golf Cart" batteries from Sam's Club for about $70 each. They are 225 amphrs. So far (couple of years) they are doing great and give me much more capacity than I had with the original two 12v batteries in parallel.

about 5 years ago, i installed 2ea 6v gpl-6ct lifeline agm batteries from bd batteries online.
they are so tall that i had to install them on their sides in my stairwell battery compartment.
i went from about 190 ah battery capacity to 300 ah battery capacity. they weigh 90# each.
the only problem was that lifeline batteries are very expensive.
a very nice advantage is that lifelines never need water and there is absolutely no corrosion.
my batteries are still performing very well.

I got 4 6 volts from Sam's last year, and had one starting leaking. They replaced it. I did not have the receipt, but they looked it up for me.

They did not have the same brand of battery, and you are supposed to replace all as a unit.

Will see what happens.

Check out Batteries Plus. I'm using them in my boat and the motor home starting battery. I've had very good luck with them

You might also want to check out the Sears Diehard batteries. We put 2 - 12 volt deep cycle batteries in our motorhome in 2004 and they're still going strong. We also replaced the starting battery with a Sears Diehard (maintenance free) in 2007 and don't expect to have to replace it for several years.
