Code 33 Genset Shut Down

We have an 04 Journey with a Cummins Genset with only about 100 hours on it. It has been shutting down after a few minutes and reads a code 33 high temp issue. I took it to a local Cummins service center (small one)
and they said they can't work on it because the genset doesn't slide out for service. They contacted the Cummins in Renton Wa. and they said that they have been getting several of these when they reach about 7 years old. Has anyone else had this issue and what was the problem?
Thanks!

That is awfully low time, it could be anything. Have you tried the obvious/easier things like coolant level, obstructed air filter and animal nests in cooling air passages?

The belt may have broken, but you probably can't get at that until the Renton service center drops the generator.

It is unfortunate, but on our Journeys the coach needs to be lifted and the genset lowered out on a transmission jack to be repaired.

Did the Renton folks give you any possibilities?

For the future, you should run the generator about two hours per month. If not all at once, that at least one hour at a time. The generator should be under about a half load when you do this. This is to drive moisture from the windings and benefits the engine lubrication system as well.
