Coffee Pot Left on Suncruiser 33U

Hi, we have a Suncruiser 03' 33U and are full-timers.

We went off to work today and left the coffee pot on, the built in one over the kitchen table.

Does anyone know if that thing will shut off when the coffee in it evaporates.

I am afraid I feel the need to drive home from work turn the darn thing off.

Would like to know for future reference.

It does make a good cup of coffee.

FWIW Not sure about your coffee maker but I have two different units and they both turn off after about 1.5 hours.

Same here . . . not sure about your's but my Black & Decker undercounter shuts down after 2 hours.

At work, we've had cheap to expensive coffeemakers (not undercounter) left on as long as over the weekend . . . stinks and a pain to cleanout the pot, but no real damage.

Thanks for the quick replies. I am almost sure it is the orgininal Black & Decker mounted under the cabinet. I think I will let is shut off. It sounds like they are designed to do that and it makes sense. I remember having left it on for quite sometime, probably most of the day and it just ugly but like you said, no real damage. I will check back in a couple hours and see if anyone feels differently.

Our 2002 vintage B & D under counter coffee maker turns itself off after about 2 hours.

Tip for cleaning a pot that has burned, crusted coffee in the bottom....put some ice cubes and a good portion of table salt in the pot, swirl it around for a bit and the crud comes off. Learned that at the firehouse...us guys were often leaving coffee in them things to burn on the bottom.

Just for the record, the coffee pot was the original put in the coach as far as I can tell from documentation.

It was still on when we got home from work. Still quite hot on the bottom. I will be replacing it with a safer unit. I want one that shuts off.

I like the models that have insulated carafes. No heat to cook the coffee and the carafe keeps the coffee warm.
