My m/h has that dreaded compartment door rust which I am getting ready to start attacking. There is a half circle plastic tubing on the bottom side of the compartment doors running the entire length. Does anyone have any experience removing this? It appears to be just glued on.

If you are talking about the seal, mine just pulled off. I sanded and repainted every baggage compartment on my MH.

I have tried to get the screws out of the plastic molding on the bottom edge of the compartments, but to no avail. I tried soaking them with penetrating oil, but that didin't help. I am considering just tearing them off since they don't seem to serve a purpose. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The plastic strip is held on by several screws. You'll have to open the cabinet door, peel back the mat and remove the screws from inside the cabinet. Ours have phillips heads that are slightly recessed in the flooring material. They go through the flooring, the angle bracket that supports the flooring and through the top surface of the plastic strip.

If they are hard to remove it's because they're rusted to the angle bracket that supports the flooring. Once you find the screw location from the top you can slip a bare hacksaw blade between the plastic strip and the angle bracket and cut off the screw. You can replace or add screws with self tapping ones of the proper length.
