I've read several threads from some very smart people about replacment of the Coleman Mach TrueAir thermostat.

But what I can't find is the 'single solution'. Has anyone found a digital, programmable thermostat that replaces all the functionality in the TrueAir?

It doesn't have to be inexpensive.....but it does need to be complete. I want it to control and operate the same way (except better!) as the TrueAir. For example, I want it to turn on the gas furnace when the temp falls below threshold. Control both compressors in cooling mode. Have Hi and Low fan speeds. Etc...Etc....Etc.

If the answer is no, that's ok also. It just means I can stop searching.

Thanks.

I've followed this subject for a lot of years and I believe the answer is "no", you will not find another stat with all the functionality.

After 6 yrs using the digital thermostat (Ritetemp) I'm very satisfied with the features and performance.

---I don't have hi/lo fan control but was never too excited about that function since the low is not very low speed. If I wanted two speeds, I could add a little toggle switch.

---It does control the gas furnace if the heat pump can't keep up and will kick it on below a set point (4 deg).

---The Mach 3 will use just one compressor when the a/c gets close to the set temp. Mine does not so there is a larger temp swing as the a/c kicks off and back on. This is the only performance issue that affects the comfort level. But as most of us know in the large rigs with big slideouts, the basement unit can barely keep up with the heat loss, so this is a non-issue. I have the RiteTemp set for 1 deg sensitivity.

Maybe some day we'll hear about a new one that does all. Or Coleman commits to a new state-of-the-art digital setback. I can't believe they haven't updated the design to replace that flaky slide switch in the Mach 3.

Good luck,
Bill

Dang, Bill. I was hoping you would pop in and say "why, of course, Jim. Use this one. Here's the schematic for the wires."

Or something to that effect.
