Interested in any comments on the above motorhome. Are the 2002 Ultimate Advantage 36C owners satisfied with how the rig handles with some wind or seamed pavement? Thinking about going from gas 35U to a short diesel. How do the short diesels handle on the road. Wind any problem? The 35U handles well in my opinion but keeps me busy in a side or quartering wind. It appears wheelbase length to overall length the 36C numbers are not as good as the 35U as a percentage. I note the 36C has more storage capacity, fuel capacity, and appears more internal storage. The Cummings 350 should be adequate power with a toad and reasonable load. Have been happy with the 35U but could use more room and power.Any other comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Colemole,

In my experience everything else being equal the longer the wheelbase compared with the house the easier the motor home goes straight down the high way. But of course usually everything else is not equal so other things come into play. Take the coach out for an extensive test drive in the conditions you are worried about.

In general 40' + DPs handle cross winds and truck wash better than short ones.

Our heavy long coach hardly notices high winds or when trucks pass. Truck wash is almost imperceptible in our coach. But I really stuck with getting a long chassis, no big overhangs, and so on. As a result I love driving our rig.

I can't comment on the 36' length UA but I can tell you that we've been very pleased with our '02 UA model 40J
