I may need to get to the converter soon, has anyone with an 02 Journey had to do work on it? If so how do you get to it? Winnebago tech assist and my dealer are vauge as to access to it. Its under the refrig.

In my '02 Horizon, it was as simple as taking the drawer out, that is under the fridge. It is mounted to the floor, behind the drawer.

I replaced the junk OEM converter, which always cooked the batteries.

Thanks but there is no drawer under the fridge, there is a 12 volt pop breaker panel behind a door and a radio speaker, guess I should pull the speaker.

Are you sure you have a converter under the fridge? I would think you have the 1500 watt inverter/charger which is located on a shelf in the bay with your electrical cord and transfer switch.

My friend's 02 Journey has a Heart 1500W inverter/charger and it is located where yours is. I thought his Heart came standard on the Journey and was not an option. I could be wrong.

Access is through the speaker hole. Its a Magnatek 7455. Nice and simple if you are replacing your refrig at the same time. Otherwise you need a mirror and mini arms and hands. The easiest way is to cut a hole in the panel under the fridge lay on your stomach put your right arm through the speaker hole and the left arm through the cut hole prop a mirror up behind the thing shine a flashlight into the mirror and make beleive you are a doctor performing surgery with a tv screen.

Pretty sure what everyone's looking at is a converter/charger, not the inverter. On Winnie's the inverter is either located up top where the TV is mounted (300-500 watt inverters) or if you have the larger inverters (1500-2000 watt), they are inverter/chargers located in the electrical bay behind the driver's side dual. If you have the inverter/charger, there shouldn't be anything below the fridge other than the coach 12V fuse panel.

Don, you are correct, but the O.P asked about converter location/access, not inverter.
