Have you read through the information provided at the top of this forum?

Here are some starting points...

The converter box should be between the TV and small wall mounted switch box that powers the batwing antenna.

If your replacement VCR has a digital tuner, does it have a TV output connector that can be connected to the TV antenna input via a coax cable? In this case you may not need the converter.

Do you have someone nearby who may have done this in their MH?

hullview ...

To check the capabilites (and connectivity) of you VCR try this ...

a) put in a blank tape into your VCR and set it to record from the TV antenna ... record for a couple of minutes ...

then

b) rewind the tape and play it on your TV

if you can record from digital TV channels and play it through your TV then you do not need the converter box.

Hullview,

Could you please post the brand and model number of your VCR. I have never seen a VCR with a digital tunner and would be very interested in aquiring one.

I am not sure that they even make a stand-alone VCR any more but if you do a Google search for VCR with digital tuner you will find all kinds of DVD and DVD/VCR's with digital tuners.
