For over three years, my house batts have read 13.7 volts on the OnePlace. House Batts (3rd set) gassed & acid flowed onto compartment floor, causing a real mess. Called Parallax Pwr Supply techs (OEM unit); they said the batts were the problem, not their converter/charger (Model 7445). Hmmmmm.

Mobile Tech came out & said unit was putting excess charge to house batts. Using extended warranty/unsur plan, had the unit replaced with Progressive Dynamics PD7245C IntelliPower unit, including a Remote Pendant, which shows the state of activity from the unit, via a green light (steady; fast flash; slow flash).

After 24 hrs, the unit went from Bulk charge, to Normal charge, to Float charge. OnePlace reading is now 3.1 volts. Am now going to re-clean the batt compartment of acid/corrosion, since I think (hope) gassing may be finished. Hopefully worth the cost.

Sorry for such a long post.

We have had two Parallax converters and two sets of batteries replaced under warranty due to overcharging. Our current Parallax is a 7455. I am considering a switch to either a PD unit or Xantrex.

In addition to the features in my orininal post, the unit, when in storage (float) mode, every 21 hours will go into equalization (de-sulfate) mode for 15 minutes. I noticed this occuring on the Remote Pendant unit yesterday, & confirmed the 14.4 volts on the OnePlace. When finished, went back to 13.1 volts float. Nice.

www.progressivedyn.com 269-781-4241. Two year warranty.

Wish I had done this when I bought the rig in '03. Another change to my dream Spec.
