Cummins Diesel Muffler Replacement

I had replaced my air filter last year and was contemplating replacing the muffler since it was 8 years old and OEM. Didn't know when I might do that, but our recent return from Florida has accelerated my plans.

Driving north through Richmond, I lost the extension and chrome tailpipe off of the muffler. Second time it's happened since we've owned the coach (2002).

So now it's moved up the list of things to do.

Has anyone changed their diesel mufflers to a newer, more efficient one? The current muffler is 5" I/O and approximately 36" long.
