I'm replacing the rear TV in our '02 Journey DL. In this model the TV is in the upper street-side corner, with a nice dark cherry cabinet. I cut that sucker all to pieces, so I can reshape it for the 22" LCD. An amazing amount of steel in there, and a BIG hole in the wall full of wires. Not a problem. I really want to re-stain in the original dark cherry, but its not a normal color for Home Depot or Lowes. Anyone know the brand name of stain Winnebago uses? I guess I can call and ask, but I'm already here, and you guys have a bunch of knowledge.

Minwax cherry should work. If you want lighter, wipe on and wipe off sooner. Darker cherry; wipe on, leave set for a while, wipe off; do it all again until you achieve the desired results.

Have any pics of what it looks like when yo take the TV out? I also have a 2002 Horizon, and also intend to do that job. In fact, I have bought the flatscreen TV with left-side accessed DVD player.

I called and asked them what the oak stain they used on mine is. The gave me a stain name (not brand) but I couldn't find it anywhere. I called back and they gave me a manufacturer name.
I called them and they said they don't make stain.

So I got a bunch of little sample packets of various oak stains from a True Value hardware store, put them on scrap pieces of oak and picked the best match.

We have a local paint store where they are quite skilled at custom mixing stains. I removed a drawer and took a scrap of the wood I wanted to stain to the store ... they had a quart of stain that matched perfectly the next day ... {I had used them several times before on projects around my home}

Where I live that store is a Sherwin-Williams store ... in your neighborhood just look for the paint store where all the folks that finish woodwork congregate.

Called Winnebago, no joy there. I checked the Sherwin-Williams web site and they can custom mix stains, so I'll just take a piece down and see what they can come up with. When I get this done, the 50 lb lump up front is next.
