Today our dash radio stopped working completely (i.e. no power) on the chassis battery position, but works OK on the House battery position. I'm thinking that it may be a fuse problem. Are the power sources seperately fused? I just got home from a trip to Yosemite and it's 108 degrees outside, so I haven't investigated yet -- thought I would ask you guys (because you are all so much smarter than me) first.

Hi Gary,
Our Adventurer has the same problem - the radio works on 'coach' power but not on 'engine' power.
It is going in to the dealer tomorrow for all of it's "New RV issues" and if they tell me anything regarding the radio problem I will post it here.

The radio power switch is a 3 wires wwitch. The "common" terminal goes to the radio while the other two terminals select from either power supply source. Each source is fused with it's own fuse. Seeing as how your chassis side isn't powering the radio I'd take a look at the Workhorse or Ford fuse blocks. On my Suncruiser there was one right under the flip-up dash assembly near the left windshield pillar. That may be the one you need.

Thanks to both of you. I'll go check the fuses next week--right now it's still well over 100? outside, so I think I'll wait.
Candy--I'll be interested to see what your dealer says, but I think Cruzer has nailed it. Now I just have to find the right fuse panel.

Gary: You might also check out the Winnebago site as they post all mechanical and electrical 1-lines in .pdf for your coach. I keep a full set of 'B' size on board, and a 'D' size at home for projects such as yours. Good luck!

Found the fuse panel under the dash (have to have a trained miniature monkey to get at it!) and replaced 2 fuses (one called radion-acc and one called radio-batt) but still no power from the chassis battery. Also found a pop-out breaker labeled radio, but that didn't help either.
Guess I'm going to have to pull the radio and dig deeper, unless someone has a brainstorm.
This all started after I ran the generator while coming home from Yosemite so we could use the main A/C unit. I don't know if this is related or just coincidence.

I'd say it's just a coincidence, Gary, I drive with my generator running a lot of times and never have had that problem. Keep us posted. Good Luck.

My radio only works in the engine position when the ignition is turned on. When ignition is off switch must be in house position. I believe this setup is so the chassis battery will not be drained when stopped.

You're right--I believe they all do that for the reason you explained. However mine stopped working in the chassis position whether the engine is running or not.

Hi Gary,
Sorry for the delay, I just got my rig back!
On the work order it says the cause was the "wire harness plug loose", and the resolution was they "repaired wire in plug".
There was also a wire at the door switch that was being pinched by a screw, and that was causing the fuse that powers the compass, radio, etc... to blow. They replaced that wire and the fuse as well.
It seems to be working now, sorry I don't have more details.
