I just finished fixing a day/night shade cord and was wondering if there is a way to clean both blinds without damaging them. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The "best" way to clean them is to replace them with MCD shades... If thats not in the cards, I'm sure someone else will have another idea.

My DW uses the vacuum with a dusting brush to lightly go over the two shades. Dust is about the only issue we have had with these type shades.

We cleaned our day/night shades last summer when we restrung a cord.
DW put them in the shower, sprayed them with Scrubbing Bubbles, let them sit a while and then rinsed them. There was an amazing amount of brown crud that ran down the drain.
We laid them out on a picnic table to dry partially folded so as to keep the pleats intact. It took overnight and part of the next day for them to dry completely.

Now we are installing MCD shades to upgrade the coach. DW was redoing the valances with new fabric before we installed the new shades but got detoured because we inherited one third of a commercial peach orchard in CO and she is the executrix of the estate.
As soon as the valences are finished we will install the MSD shades.

The best way to "clean" them is to go to the MCD factory in McCallen, TX, have new MCD's fabricated and installed and toss the day-nights in the MCD dumpster.

We did that a year ago and its been some of the best money we've spent on our coach.

Thanks to all for the info. Looks like the MCD shades are the way to go. I will investigate. Thanks Again
