Day nite shades

Restrung one of the large day-nite shades and reinstalled it today. Iforgot that one needs help in performing this evolution. I called my son to help me and we did it post haste. This was the one by the dinette which gets the most use. Waiting for the next one to fail....

I agree, remounting the shades is a pain until you get the clamp in the center to catch.

If you have to restring another shade, make sure the the little plastic bushings at each of the holes that the strings pass through - particularily in the center divider between day and night shades are in place. That's the biggest strain point where the strings can break. The bushings are to protect the string from the metal holes and the burrs that weren't removed. The last one that I did, I put the bushings in from the bottom of the metal and super glued them in place. That gives a bigger plastic shoulder to protect the string.

Hope you have restrung your last shade.

Good job restringing the shade and if like me, you have several to go. I think Winnebago transferred the employee that left burrs on the shade holes and put the plastic grommets in backwards to the adhesive department, where front and rear access doors are falling off.
