My 93 Brave floors have a known issue. The 3 layer floors separate in some isle locations due to under floor braces being too far apart and years of walking across the floor. This is not due to water or insects, it is a known issue that I have on my RV. The "bouncy" spots are in the isle to the left and right of the stairway.
Winnebago sent me the directions to fix this issue. Remove carpet, cut a square in the first layer, cut a smaller square in the foam. Glue under foam, glue over foam and re-set the top plywood section. Weigh the repair until dried. Seems like over kill to me. I could ignore the floor since it will not get worse, but I would like to fix it.
I figure some deck screws in the right locations would fix the issue by pulling the layer back together. Standing on these spots pulls the floor back together. At this time driving screws would pull the layer system back together. I have heard of people putting extra support below the floor with 2X4 brackets also. I believe the screws would work great. Any opinions would be appreciated if you have experience with this repair. Too easy?? Work smarter, not harder.
