The house batteries would not hold a charge, we thought, so on Friday we put 2 new charged batteries in. Tested everything on Friday and turned off the Battery Power Switch on the dashboard and everything shut off as expected. Monday morning the house batteries are dead again. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to IRV2 .

Do you have an inverter and, if so, are you sure it is turned off? Not sure if that is your issue but something I would check.

ratrider, Welcome to the forum. Would help to know make, model, yr of your coach. Will the engine crank; indicating a dual problem or is problem isolated to only house batteries?? Inverter running fridge definitely sounds possible. You can do a search under "find"(above) by entering "house batteries" and probably come up with more than you ever wanted to know about house batteries. Other members will chime in, so stay tunedin.

Hey, I had an issue like this and after several months I finally uncovered my battery drain. The amplifier for my tv antenna was buried in the back of a cabinet, and I had no clue it had an on/off switch until one night I noticed a small green light glowing on the faceplate where the tv cable hooked up to it. In my case, with house batteries off, it was drawing down the engine battery instead. Never did find a circuit breaker to kill it, so I suspect it really isn't wired in correctly. So now, I just have to remember to manually switch it off between trips.

Be sure to look at the house battery cables to see if anybody directly wired accessories in, bypassing the house battery on/off switch. I know the last owner wired the alarm system and solar array both directly to house batteries...
