Dinette Change Revisited

A few years ago we removed the OEM dinette & replaced it with a counter, cabinets, & chairs. It has worked great for us. We have since improved the look by adding better chairs & upholstering them with the fabric recycled from the dinette cushions. The chairs now match the window valance's in the coach. I LOVE it! We don't have the booth.....we have a table, but it and both chairs are fastened down.........would love the extra cabinets and the flexibility of your set-up.

Very nice, I think you put some great thought into this and came up with a winner. We have the table and free standing chairs in our rig and it wouldn't be hard to do this with it. This has certainly given us something to think about.

how do you keep your chairs from moving about when motorhome is moving? we have taken the booth out and have two upholstered chairs but they do slide about on the liminate???

your stove heater....did you have to put a plug in there and was it with wired with something like 12-2 residential wiring and have you had any problems with it tripping a breaker? we would like one of these in our mh.

We have traveled aboutt 6000 miles with this configuration. To dampen any movement the electric stove is placed under the counter on a section of shelf liner, the chairs are bungeed together under the table. They have never strayed or fallen over. However I am sure if there were a violent event stuff would be flying everywhere. Thank you for your interest & comments. If you have any ideas suggestions please share them.

The receptacle that the electric heater is using is also a GFCI & it is a factory installed unit. Last season in Florida there were several freeze/frost warnings at night. I would guess that 90% of the time when you would need heat in the coach we used the electric heater. The times we used the furnace were mainly in the AM to take the chill out. I would also add that we enjoy sleeping when it is cool, so if you like it warm at night you may need to supplement the electric heat with your furnace.
The electric heat keeps the inside temp about 20 degrees warmer than the outside air. So 40 outside 60 inside depending on coach size, or room size if heater is in a room in a coach. We bought ours at WallMart and added an after market remote control to turn it on/off. The receptacle has never tripped the breaker.
But you have to be sensible about what else you are using in the coach so that that you dont exceed the pedestal ampereage. The other thing that you need to consider if you are having freezing conditions is the electric heater may not circulate enough air to prevent freezing in the holding area & the water bays & water chases. Our other project deals with heating that area (Utility Bay). Thank you for your interest & comments, allways interested in ideas.
