Dish Network Question
We are Canadian howver spend a couple of months every winter in Florida. Would like to use Dish network paynas you go plan while in the US. Being advised by Dish we would need to have a US billing address despite paying by credit card. Has anyne been able to workaround this?

If you stay in the same RV campground in Florida, you could possibly use it's address as your billing address. However, you might have to be there and get your dish network from a local dealer/installer.

We ssuggested that and they advised the address of the campground could be used as service address but needed a US billing address for monthly payments even if we used our credit card to pay. Of course the credit card is going to have a canadian address.

How about a money order for the months you will be needing it?

I think you'd be ok paying by credit card. As long as your "service address" is in the USA I don't think they would care too much what your "billing address" would be. Or how about getting one of those "preloaded Visa cards" You put on deposit, what you're going to spend, etc. They have them at all major USA drug stores like CVS, Walgreens, WalMart, etc.
Have you seen this site for equipment? It offers a "tailgater" package!

I hope this helps!

What you do not say is are you all ready a Dish customer? If you are this should not be a problem. Start the service at your home....DO NOT TELL THEM your are going the US. An then just do what ever you want. Dish would never know anything different is going on.

Some yeas ago I researched Free to Air TV, This, in iteself, does not apply here.. BUT I did find out a few things that do apply by accident.
There are brokers here in the US (And in Canada) where you can order through them. they will provide you with a US billing address (Them) so you can get service on the "Wrong side of the border" .
Same for us US types who wish to watch BellVu Express.
Seems that in border towns (I'm from Detroit) This kind of thing is fairly common .

I wish it were that easy but the problem seems to be the telecommunications regulations. They not only require a US service address which could be the campground, but also need a US billing address to prove they are not selling to a Canadian for use in Canada. Same thing applies to our Canadian providers. I may end up having to purchase a dish for our canadian service and bringing with which is a bit of a pain as it is quite large and seems a shame when we have satellite receiver on the MH. Was hoping someone had found a workaround.

Get a reloadable credit card signed up at the same CG address! As far as I know American Express makes you sign up online first then fund the card.
