Hi All,
Just as I was about to purchase Goodyear G670 RV 275/80R22.5 LRH to replace the original Michelin 255/80R22.5 XRV LRG I wanted to be sure that the increased diameter of the G670 (40.2" vs 38.2") and the increased width of the G670 (11.1" vs 9.9") would not cause a problem of bumping or scraping the inside wheel well or shorten the turning radius.
Would someone who has made this replacement please let me know what clearance problems to expect.
Thanks for any comments.

2" difference will throw off your speedo and could freak out the tranny shifting.

265/75R/22.5 is the closest thing I have found thus far as an alternative to the 255/80R/22.5. Goodyear specs show 537 revs per mile vs. 541 for the 255. Width should be no problem.

I replaced my Michelin 255/80R22.5 XRV with Michelin 275/70R22.5 XZA2 Energy. Same diameter but about 1" wider, no problems the last 3,000 miles. The 70 series do ride just a little stiffer but they also have a higher load range rating.
Why would you ever go from Michelins to Goodyears? I've never had anything but bad experiences with GYs on my cars, and even though there are some favorable comments on the Forum about GYs it seems the majority seem to be reporting problems with "rivering".

Wagonmaster2, I want to go to LRH from LRG. I do not want to go to LRJ. Also I want the slightly larger tire. It will prevent me from scraping the end of my driveway. Michelin makes a 275/80R22.5 LRH XZE that is the same size as the GY G670. That is, it is 1" larger in radius, or stated another way, will ride 1" higher than my present Michelin 255/80R22.5 LRG XRV. I am hoping to find someone on the forum who has the same chasis as mine and can tell me about rubs or scrapes due to the oversize width and height.
thanks
