Dog House Engine Cover

Okay, maybe I have a bad case of the stupids. I tried to remove the dog house engine cover on our 2007 Sunrise W22. Our previous MH had the Allen wrench socket at the back and 2 screws up front. I can NOT find the Allen socket in the back on this MH. I've pealed the carpet up at the back several inches. I've been over everything with a magnet. I just don't see any openings for the wrench. If I lift the whole thing up along the sides I can feel that it is attached at the mid point in the back. I just don't see how.

If you can lift it at the front then maybe there is an engagement at the rear that will disengage as it is lifted away. Just guessing. Good luck!!

On my '05 Itasca, there's an allen head screw just above floor level in the very front center of the doghouse. And, there are two screws - one on each side in the back of the cover. Once these 3 are removed, you should be able to lift the front of the cover to release it from the back side. Good luck... I struggled with mine for some time before finding the 'formula' ! / Larry

Front is towards the rear of the coach. Back is toward the dash. The allen wrench hole should be in the center front of the cover and the two screws one on each side in the back.

Call Winnie Customer Service and they will tell you exactly where and how to lift the cover. Good Luck

It took me a while to find my allen hole but it was at the rear of the dog house, rear being to the rear of the coach, down in the shag carpet. It is in there but I would have sworn that it was not before I found it. It is in from the top edge about one inch right in the middle. Use an ice pick and tap along a line in that area and you will find it.

Ok I found it It is on the horizontal (top side of the dog house) in the rear of the engine about 3 inches from the back edge. I don't know what it made from but a magnet will not find it through the carpet. Thanks everyone.
