I'm sitting here in the rain considering installing a door awning on my rig. Any suggestions?

Bad idea. When it breaks, when not if, they default to out. Cannot be retracted. Real pain to fix on the road.

Good idea ...we love ours Carefree OTD (over-the-door) power awning. It has been in almost constant use since 2003 and hasn't broken yet other than the motor getting water-logged and requiring a drain hole be drilled in the bottom of the motor case.

I wouldn't let the possibility of something maybe breaking someday and perhaps causing me a little inconvenience deprive me of the joy of using it between now and that likely distant (maybe never) day ...if I never bought something because I figured it might break someday, I wouldn't have an RV at all !!!

Great idea. Ours has saved our bacon many a times but then again our home is in Washington but we live in rain gear.
