Pass on a 'fix' for anyone with leaking compartment and/or entry door seals, the hollow core rubber seal that is around the compartment door opening and around the exterior entry door. Our 2008 Vectra, while a "new" coach, had been setting around for a couple of years with little or no TLC. I normally treat all my rubber door seal/weatherstrip with 303 to prevent age related deterioration.
I had two areas where the water was entering my roadside forward compartment and an area at the top of the entry door. Purchased 1/2" 'Backer Rod' from Lowe's and inserted the foam into the hollow door seal. I used a 3/16 dowel rod to pull the foam seal through the rubber gasket, making a small cut in the rubber gasket where I started and, after installing the foam rod, sealed the entry cut with silicone sealant.
Temporary fix while the dealer orders new door gaskets. I'll make sure I carry extra 'Backer Rod' in my supply box.
