I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has a water drip from the door awning where it's mounted to the motorhome. Water, from rain or dew, runs down and enters the entry door top frame -- open the door and get a shower. I'm considering installing a window vent shade/sunroof wind deflector to divert the water over the door frame. In our case, a smoke colored would blend in with the MH. These are self adhering (tape) so no drilling required. Appreciate your thoughts on this or other fixes.

Chief,
I don't think those were designed to leak. Would it be possible to use a caulking sealant on the affected area?

I concur with the MSgt. I have a Journey and thought not the same motor home, I would bet its the same electric awning over the door. I have not had a problem that you describe. I would look and see if it is caulked across the top.

I have the same problem. I have re-caulked the area along the top of the awning and it did some good. However, I still have some leaking. My problems started when I forgot the awning was extended and pulled out of my parking place at home, striking a tree, with the awning. Only the canvas was damaged and torn, so I replaced the canvas. However, it was then when I noticed leaks that were not there before the tree strike. I plan to go up and do some more caulking, but if you find another answer, I would be very much interested.

I like the idea of the vent shade. When I first got my rig I had the same type leak when it would rain, Water was running between the awning and the side wall and down into the door jam. After everything dried I taped off the area around the wall and the awning leaving approx a 1/4 space around the gap. I then used a 3m base silicon sealer. While it was still wet/taqcky I pulled the tape off and have a nice seam. It took care of the leak.
