I wanted to up grade from the vcr to a dvr. My delema was that I had only one antenna cable coming down from my king dome. I called King Dome to inquire if they had any retro kit for a dual lmb to run the dvr.

To my surprise I was advised that all of thier antennas were dual lmb's. I climbed up on the roof and sure enought two out puts, but only one was plumbed into the coach. After pulling the wire the dvr is up and running.

I had to remove a speaker in the middle of cabin to fish the cable but all worked out ok. I still have the dvd-vcr hooked up as well, but the added dvr makes life good.

My dome is also a dual.. (Though not all motosat domes are, long story attached to this part left off)

I'm spolied however... I dumped the DirecTV DVR (Worst user interface in the business according to several sources.. I happen to agree, at least the model I had) and put in my Vintage REPLAY TV DVR's from the house.. At one time they recorded over the air but alas, analog days are gone,, They can control a Satellite receiver, a Digital or analog cable box, Record from analog cable direct, and a few other tricks two.. Each one is a "Stand alone" unit. Only down side is that since DirecTV bought the service rights.... I don't get program guides on them any more.. But Zap2IT.com and the DTV-PAL (The digital converter from Dish Network) take care of that annoyance and I can still use it in "VCR" mode (manual record or manually programmed record) Also, where as Direc't "15" had the worst interface..... This one is best.

I'm hoping that since DirecTV now owns Replay when next (Some years) I re-think DTV... (I will likely keep using the replays) I get a better interface.

WA8YXM,
yea, I have had replay from the begining, I have rebuilt all the gutts to keep it running but just started having troubles when I changed to hd and started using the new larger antennna, so un pluged it and put it on the shelf.

That old replay box was way to big fit in the coach cabinet any way. just using the standard dvr with rv. I stil need to run a dual cable feed to a remote antenna. My signal remote keeps a message on the screen.

Hi Ho: I wonder if you have problems with the hard disk being banged around in the RV? If you use a in-motion tracker I expect this could be a problem.
