Electric toilets

We're looking at the new Ellipse's and they come with the porcelain electric toilets. Do they work that well that you don't need a sprayer, as they don't seem to come with one like our 5th wheel trailer did and a lot of other trailers I've seen.

Have no clue about these electric toilets.

I have an electric. It does do a good job of swirling the water so no sprayer needed.

Big button = flush
small button = add water

One "problem", it has a switch on back of toilet(hard to reach), for residential or manual mode. In residential, it flushes just like a home toilet, using 6 "pushes" of water to flush. Well, this eats up a lot of water. I tried to get my wife to try manual mode, you hold down the big button for as long or short as needed, but she didn't like that. So, we fill up black tank much quicker than necessary. :(

The button is on the wall; not the toilet. There is a half flush button (to save water) and a full flush. They work great.

Thanks for the replies guys, I assumed they we're a lot better than the standard rv porcelain toilets, I did see the switches on the wall. But to be honest I never new they made electric toilets for rv's before.

I feel like a green rookie again when it comes to these coaches. There sure are a lot of differences from 5'ers.

Mine does the job just fine. Go online to the website of choice of brand you are looking at for options and instructions. Most all have two stage flushing modes and operate differently.
We have never had to get the brush out yet! The flushing water has taken care of everything so far. Another plus is the option to hand crank the gate valve open and or closed. That could be used when you need to clean the knife edge groove or in case of battery outage.

When I read the Header I thought the toilet burnt everything so no need for a black tank. I think that would be a great Idea !!

you are thinking about the incinolet toilet. they use a lot of electric power.

Just curious if those toilets have no power is there a manual mechanism that allows for flushing..

Our neighbors have a Thetford Aria Deluxe II (I think it's the same one McDuff has) and I asked that very same question when they were showing it to us.

He showed us a knob on the back of the toilet where you can manually turn to release the bowl into the holding tank if for some reason there is absolutely no power. Theirs was on the inverter, though so they could run it while going down the road.

I'd sure like to have one. I'm always afraid that the spring on our manual toilet is going to break because of the sound it makes and the tension it has. I'd love just to press a button!

Mine works well also but I'm pretty sure it's 12volts.

One nice thing about my Intruder is that it is a bath and a half model,, I have both an Electric and a traditinal "Sealand" type.

The electric works very well indeed... No problems at all ... HOWEVER
(isn't there always a However) HOWEVER,, IT uses a LOT of water.

So if you boondock/dry camp... You may not be happy with how fast it fills your black tank.. The SeaLand uses far less water even with my wife standing on the valve for far longer than needed.
