Tried to access the top of my engine today as it will not start. We have the 40AD Horizon and when I removed the raised floor panel between the bed and the wardrobe I could not get the engine cover out. It sits at a slight angle, removed the 4 bolts and was able to lift the cove a little but I can see no way to get it out as there is a metal lip for the floor to sit on in front of the wardrobe.

Lindsay ...

My rig is a 2004 39' Journey ... I have had my engine cover off a couple of times ... I think I have 6 or 8 bolts ... the cover lifts off easily ... are you sure you have removed all the bolts?

There is also the possiblity that when the the bottom wardrobe track was installed that such long screws were used that the screws went into your engine cover ...

Lindsay,

I watched FL access my engine and they had a tight squeeze to get the metal cover out but they managed. They did have to remove the steps to the raised floor area and the bed had to raised as well.

Thanks Harry, that was not the answer I wanted!! The cover is free of all bolts but the space is not there to get it out. If I have to raise the bed then it will be the bed base as well I think.

I need to look at the vertical wall under the step as that might be the trick, the cover needs to move towards the driver to get it out. I'll check it when I get home tonight.

Thanks,
