Hello
I have the 2004 Journey 36G. I'm going in for service on my 3261 E engine at a cat dealer.
Any special tricks to removing the engine cover under the bed.
I'm interested to see if I have the grease able fan hub or not. Engine went into service Dec. 2003
Thanks

I have same floorplan/set up in '02 so guess it is same. Raise bed and prop up, remove bolts (6 total) from the two metal engine access covers. They pull forward, up and out. Engine top end service (valve lash adjustment) can be done.

3126E does have the zerk fitting on the fan hub so get them to give it a shot of grease. While under there, have them lube the Pac Brake. If your thermostats have never been replaced, good time to have that done.

Removed cover under bed but can't feel any grease fitting between the two bolts towards top of hub. Engine serial number is HEP 43800 so looks like I have the later no Grease version.

Colemole,
Just wondering here. Yours and our coach are the same model year and for the most part, are sister ships. Ours is the '04 Itasca Horizon 36GD. It too has the CAT 330 in it but, ours is the C-7, not the 3126 E version. We don't have the Zerk on the hub. And, our engine cover under the bed, has only four bolts but, there's actually two covers. The very large one, about 41" x 39" plus or minus and, the more rear-ward cover, about 41" x 15" plus or minus. I've not had the smaller cover off but the other one, a couple of times. And, on the Valve cover is stamped;

C7 ACERT

So, I was just wondering here.

Hello
Yes sounds like units are very similar. Mine has a smaller removeable cover to the rear of the coach and a larger one to the front under the bed. There are 3 bolts to remove each cover. I becoming pretty certain I have the 3126E which will confirmed when I take it in for service and they'll hook it up to the computor to see how things have been going with it. Running fine so will not get Valve adjustment until next service which will be close to the recommended 40,000 miles.
