fred481 Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2010 Posts: 8	1997 chevrolet brave. 7.4 engine. Engine will quit and will not re-fire. Scanner will not read VCM. I have been told to put the ignition switch in the ON position for about ten minutes and try to start. I have done this with success and the scanner will now communicate with the vehicle but no codes are shown. When the engine is turned off, it will sometimes re-start and sometimes not. But if switch is again left on for a while, it will re-start. I have replaced many sensors and the fuel pump. Do I need a new VCM? __________________
