Entry Door Handle Broke - help with replacement

So yesterday I was getting the RV ready for a trip and went to open the door and it didn't work. SOmething inside of the handle had broken. So I was luckily able to crawl through the drivers side window, unscrew the three screws and manually open the door.

What I'm not clear on is how to fix this. Does anyone have instructions or information on how to install a new handle for a winnebago?

Its on a 2005 Itasca Horizon 40AD.

Thanks.

Darryl

I'd expect a new latch would have instructions with it. You might just need a part that could be purchased. Take the door latch off and inspect for an obviously broken part. Take it to a RV store and see what they say.

I approach most repair jobs like this figuring I'm at least as smart as the worker that installed it the first time and I can exchange parts with the best of them. The only hang up is when they have special jigs or tools I don't have, then I try work arounds.

I had an entry door handle/latch break on the last coach I had. Not that difficult to fix, providing that it's not a remote-type lock.
Just go to Winnebago or Lichtsinn Motors and tell them your problem. They will send you a replacement. Easy change out.

Call Winnebago customer relations. Winnie has the parts and they will help with instructions in many cases.

when the latch on our Journey broke I ordered a replacement from the manufacturer, Trimark They needed a number that is on the inside of the latch to match the replacement so make sure you have it apart when you call them.
Swapping them out was no big deal, only takes 30 minutes or less.

Saw a fellow break the door jamb because he could not get into his trailer.
He looked at me real funny when I told him it would have been cheaper to break a window. It must have cost him thousands to repair the door.
Remember a man made it and a man can fix it!
