My new Suncruiser's basement A/C stopped cooling while we are travelling to the WCMC rally on the Outer Banks. On Tuesday I called Tom Johnson RV center in Marion, NC to see IF I could get an appointment to have it looked at. I was thrilled when they said "bring it in tommorrow, and we'll see what you need". The unit was running, but since it had apparently lost the Freon they needed to remove it to solder in the fittings needed to find the leak and recharge. The unit was removed for repair and we got the coach back to sleep in at their adjacent campground . This morning I was told the repairs were underway, and that everything should be back together by afternoon. True to their word, the unit is fixed and cooling like it should after less than 2 days here, start to finish.

The service writer, Mike Amerto, and Tech "Jimmie" were competent and professional, and everyone here seems genuinely interested in my satisfaction. Friendly people doing good work. First class facilities, including pet friendly customer lounge with big TV and free WiFi. Breakfast and lunch are also available at very reasonable prices. WBGO is covering the repairs under warranty, as I expected, and I don't think I could have hoped for better treatment than what we have experienced at Tom Johnson-Marion.

OBTW, they are also doing Workhorse brake recall work, and have all the necessary parts in stock. Several recall jobs were being done while I was here, but fortunately my W-24 is not recalled.

I am totally satisfied and wanted everyone here in the Winnebago forum to know this is a great place to come for service / repairs if you are anywhere near Ashville, NC.

Ed;

Thanks for the report. Bev and I have been thinking of you and Suzanne traveling east with out a working A/C. Your trip will now be more enjoyable.

ED, That's great News! Now I know where I have to go to get my A/C serviced. We used to have a tech here that worked on them at Grand Strand RV but they sold the business and moved to Texas.

I just heard today that Grands Strand RV (name) is back in business here under new ownership, so I'll have to call to see if they do RVP basement A/C work. I might have a bad bearing in one of the squirrel cages drying up. It doesn't make noise all the time but I hear it every so once in a while. I'm sure it won't get any better.

See you in Hatteras!
