My exhaust brake switch on the dash of my 05 Horizon 40AD is different than what my manual says. The manual shows on and off, mine is a three position with low on the left position and high on the right. I assume the center position is "off". I could experiment, but I would rather ask. What does "high" and "low" refer to?

Sounds like you have the 400HP Cummins with an engine 'jake' brake rather than the 350HP Cat with exhaust brake.

My manual shows an 'Exhaust Brake' switch labeled 'On' and 'Off' for the Cat and an 'Engine Brake' switch labeled 'Low' and 'High' for the Cummins. The low setting operates on three cylinders, the high on all six.

You must have the optional 400hp ISL Cummins. The 400ISL comes with a 2-speed engine brake. Not an exhaust brake as the 350hp std comes with. Your engine brake shuts down the exhaust valves on 3 cylinders in low and 6 cylinders in high. You have the best.
