I have 2008 Adventurer 38T and I'm looking for an extended warranty plan. I never thought much of extended warranties but in this case I'm wondering if it might be a good investment to reduce risk.

I've researched Good Sam and Wholesale Warranties. Does anyone have experience with either of these companies? If so, I'm interested in how they handle claims and/or if there is a lot of hassle getting something fixed.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

thanks

I've always purchased an extended warranty with my RV's and have always been disappointed. Why do I buy then? Because I still believe the odds are someday I won't have it and something really bad will happen. Just read ALL the fine print. Know what is and is not covered like you know the back of your hand. Be aware of under what circumstance an item might not be covered (they use this one a lot). And if you can afford it, get the lowest deductible you can. Always keeping in mind, if you blow a radiator because of a stuck or non functioning thermostat, the radiator is NOT covered (the thermostat is ). To date I've had both CSP(or CPS or whatever it was called) from Good Sam and now Easycare through the dealer.

Several years ago after reading the fine print as Joe recommends I decided to put $1000 a year in a special account not to be touched unless repairs to the coach are required. There is currently $3000 in the account. I just can't see paying CSP (through Good Sam) $700 a year for a $500 deductible policy that is carefully worded to pay for as little as possible. I think that the stress involved with a claim and the waiting game is just not worth it. If I am lucky in a few years there will be $10,000 in the account and that money is still mine!

I thought my dealer's asking price for the annual cost for an extended warranty was totally unreasonable. I have elected to put $400 or so aside every month for my "RV Fund" designed to cover not only repairs but also annual chassis service, tire replacement, and some minor improvements/upgrades. We have over 60k miles of fulltime living on the coach now and that has worked very well. The best part is that there is no hassle when I need repairs ...the only person I have to argue with over the payment is the service place and myself!!
