Does anyone have experience in adjusting the engine access panel on the front of a 2004 Adventurer? The panel does not set properly at the top...leaves a gap of 1/2-3/4 inch and has a loose fit.

I don't know about your coach, but we have a 2006 Sightseer 35N with a drop down front engine access panel.

The hinges that hold the panel were just glued to the fiberglass front cap. The glue had failed and the hinges could move around. When the panel was open/down the weight of the panel pulled the hinges back into their original position. Making it very hard to see what was going on.

Once I screwed the hinges back tight to the front cap, I was able to adjust the hinges for a better fit. I used some plastic washers and stainless thorough bolts to attach the hinges.

Since this fix I have not had any problems with the front access panel.

Good Luck

I believe winnie uses a 2 part epoxy. One of My brackets came off so i redid both. My brackets have slots that can be adjusted if you use nuts and bolts instead of epoxy. By using the bolts you can slide brackets up and down for adjustment where as the epoxy is a done deal, no adjustments after dried.
