I have a 2004 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 30V with a Fantastic Fan in the bedroom ceiling. The fan only works when the ceiling light switch is on. Is this the way all these bedroom fans work or was this wired wrong?
Thanks,
Arthur

I would say there is a wiring problem. I've never heard of one like that. It should be wired to a thermostat that causes it to open or close at a set temp, or you can open/close it manually. The fan itself has a switch on the fan housing for off or three speeds.

Hi Arthur - welcome to the forum!

Are you the original owner or was it previously owned? If you're the 2nd owner, the previous owner may have installed the fan to upgrade an unpowered vent and was only able to get power from the ceiling light. If that's the case, and the ceiling light is controlled by a wall switch, look at leaving the wall switch "on" and replacing the ceiling light fixture with one that has a switch on the fixture.

If you're the original owner, then it sure sounds like a wiring error - probably at the light switch. The power for the fan might be supposed to come off the "hot" side of the switch, but instead is connected to the "cold" (or switched) side.
